The painter of this lovely image is Charlie Mackesey. He was born in Northumbria, England, in 1962.. According to Wikipedia, he is a former atheist who has 'found Jesus' and sees his work as a way to "introduce God to the people he loves". You may have heard of him in another context, as he's the author of a massively best-selling book, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.
