I'm actually reading like mad, and have finished several books recently, but the reviews are all going to end up in the Extra Shiny, which comes out on 3 November., so I'm not going to share them with you now. I know my fellow editors tend to leave everything till the last minute, but I can't do that as I'd be in too much of a panic. So I try to keep up to date with reading and reviewing in the weeks before we go live.
The books I've finished and written about are the one on the left, Angel Killer by Andrew Mayne, the British Library Crime Classic Silent Nights: Christmas Mysteries, and the new Robert Galbraith, Career of Evil. I enjoyed them all a lot and am writing glowing reviews.
Now on the go is the latest, and sadly last, Ruth Rendell, Dark Corners, which so far seems to be very much up to standard. Then I have a couple of non-fiction books, also for Shiny, and I'm deeply involved in The Bone Clocks, which I am loving. And of that weren't enough, I've also started on Andrew Mayne's follow-up to Angel Killer, which isn't yet out in the UK. And I'm hoping for a few more review copies in the post soon.
Sounds a bit ridiculous, but I am having a good time, as you will discover when Extra Shiny comes out in about 3 weeks, or when my non-Shiny reviews finally get written.
