Here in the UK, and probably elsewhere in Europe, I suspect we are going to have quite a mild winter (though now I've said that it will probably start snowing almost immediately). Anyway this morning I saw this wonderful painting on a blog I've recently discovered and wanted to share it with you to show what we are (probably) missing.
The painting is by Gijsbrecht Leytens (known as 'The master of the winter landscape'), and called ‘Winter Landscape with People strolling on the Banks of a Frozen River where Children Play’. The blog is called a gallimaufry and is well worth a visit.
