Rather late in the day to be drawing your attention to this, but if you didn't see it, The Guardian had a feature at the weekend called The Ten Best Neglected Literary Classics. I'm ashamed to say I've only read two of them -- Barbara Comyns and George Gissing -- though I've read other novels by Laski, Wells and Manning. As for Elisabeth Sanxay Holding -- I've never even heard of her (though I should have done as this is now published by Persephone), but what a cover! I'm now longing to read them all.
