You might remember that just before I went away I had a lovely lunch with Norm and Adele Geras. I only just discovered that Norm blogged about our lunch, and also about reading Anne Tyler, whose books we discussed over lunch. Reading his list, I realised how many of her great novels I still have to read.
Here is Norm's list, with my comments (if no comment, I haven't read it):
Top spot
A Patchwork Planet (I completely agree)
Bubbling unders
Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant (I haven't read, but hear it is wonderful)
The Accidental Tourist (Yes, a great book)
The Amateur Marriage (Yes, a great book)
Excellent
If Morning Ever Comes
The Tin Can Tree
Celestial Navigation
Breathing Lessons
Very good
A Slipping Down Life
The Clockwinder
Back When We Were Grownups
Still to read
Searching For Caleb
Earthly Possessions
Morgan's Passing
Saint Maybe
Ladder Of Years (Loved this -- I'd certainly put it under Excellent)
