Woman Reading (3)

Study_frederic_leighton I really love this one. Painted in the 1870s by Frederick Lord Leighton, it hangs in Sudley House in Liverpool, a wonderful museum in a Victorian house in a park, and well worth a visit. I love the picture so much that I managed to use it for the cover of an anthology of 19th Century Short Stories by Women, which I edited, and which I am rather pleased to say is still in print almost ten years on.
